Yakuza Academy-- Yao Hakase

this is for the group.
It's like a school for the elements, ninjas and stuff it's pretty cool so I thought I might make a teacher, since the classes seem pretty packed

so yay! it took a while and the phoenix was bizarrely hard... so, sorry if it looks a bit special...
and that's a scar on his eye not a leech or anything.

Personality:
Calm, cool and collected, Professor Yao is always willing to listen to his students, he is a good patient person and has a very regal presence. He is also surprisingly intelligent, especially when it comes to magical creatures.

Past:
When Yao was younger he grew up with a travelling circus as his parents were acrobats, the ringleader tried to teach him how to be an acrobat, but when it was discovered that he had no talent for his parent's profession, he was put in charge of the creature section of the circus with rare and exotic animals that have never been seen for eons at the age of five.
throughout the course of 10 years, Yao saw the acts of cruelty that these mythical creatures endured, the ridicule and heart-break as any offspring born would be given away to other circuses. and having seen enough, he unlocked all the cages and led unicorns, faries, gryphons, dragons and phoenixes loose on the circus' camp, causing more wrong than good.
As punishment, Yao was Chained in an escaped creature's cage and whipped by the ringleader many times, scarring his face, back, legs and torso, In his confinement, his parents abandoned him out of shame.
abandoned and alone, he had no idea what was left for him, when a lone pheonix returned to the circus and perched itself next to him for night after night. the bird would gather food for him and bring him water, presumably as a thanks for setting it free, then one night in return, the pheonix set yao free by melting the bars on the cage with one flap of it's firey wings.
From there, he escaped from the circus, and he named the pheonix ember, as when it was happy, it would shed little delicate embers.
